New York indie group Strawberry Blonde have announced their debut album. The LP, No Past to Live In, is out October 16.  Strawberry Blonde lean further into experimentation while recentering the deft songwriting and full arrangements characteristic to the group on this record. No Past to Live In is a dynamic, diverse album whose sound shifts from confessional emo, to dreamy shoegaze-inspired tracks, to indie pop hits while still forming a cohesive record. The eight tracks deal with themes of nostalgia, anxiety, childhood trauma, and complex relationships.

“Drown 2,” the latest single off No Past to Live In, encapsulates feeling overwhelmed with the most vulnerable, challenging moments in a relationship. Its lush, layered guitars and sonic intensity perfectly meet its deeply personal lyricism; bandmembers Liam Connors and Carey Ozmun ask “Is this who we’re supposed to be?” over skillful, driving percussion.
